It doesn’t matter what sort of diet you choose, this book “Beyond Broccoli – Creating a Biologically Balanced Diet When a Vegetarian Diet Doesn’t Work” should be on your reading list.
It’s written by someone who used to be vegan for many years, and in fact, wrote another book on eating raw foods, “The Live Food Factor.” After many years of following a vegan diet, she began having health problems and discovered that the diet wasn’t working for her.
She did a lot of research and talked with other leaders in the field of nutrition, and eventually changed what she ate. In this book she shares her extensive research, and the reasons why she is not longer vegan.
Vegetarian or Vegan, Is It For You?
While some people do well on a vegetarian or vegan diet, it’s not for everyone. People have varying metabolisms, and react to different foods in varying ways.
YOU might do well on a vegan diet… but then again, you might not. I think the important thing is to keep an open mind, and to educate yourself on the reasons why vegetarian diets are good, and also why they might be a problem for some people.
This is a book jam-packed with information, and a serious read. It’s a good book to stretch your brain and your beliefs.
I’ve written an in-depth review of the book “Beyond Broccoli – Creating a Biologically Balanced Diet When a Vegetarian Diet Doesn’t Work”, telling more about what the book is about, and why people who are concerned about their diet and health should read it, especially anyone considering becoming vegetarian or vegan.
I have also included a video, and several references to other sources that explain more about this author, Susan Schenck, and her work. You can read it here.
